  1. Courses at more convenient times for West Coast USA.

I have bee trying to sign up for a basic PM training course for Trados. Most of the PM courses I've seen begin at 7am or earlier west-coast time and are live webcast only. A self-paced webinar or a live training based in North America would be wonderful.

  2. SDL Trados

Not really an "idea"; I just wonder if you could use my SDL Trados Studio 2014 manual in your courses. (It is written in English.)

  4. Using Go to Webinar

in the first place. I attended a webinar for the first time and it was a harrowing experience, the control panel is too small for me to read and I found no possibility to enlarge it. And it keeps closing itself - I was unable even to confirm my presence online, let alone ask a question, as it takes me too long to find out how to open the chat window (by hit and miss). Is there a possibility to set the sound volume (and ideally tone and balance)? I found none (the volume on my computer was already at…

  10. FREE courses for paying members

... about Trados for example or subtitling or interpreting or any other topic. I bought my membership with a free course (at that moment it was a promotion), but every time I renew it, I don't get any added value and the price is constantly increasing... Why wouldn't you offer paying members something special in the form of one or several free courses per year?

Thanks for your suggestion! There is usually a lot of free content for members in the several virtual events and free webinars ProZ.com organizes throughout the year (if you missed any try getting access to videos). Adding new content to membership that includes training is also under review. Thanks again!

  12. Swiss German vs German legalese (contracts)

OK those Swiss folk talk funny and I would never dream of trying to translate into the Swiss variety of the German language. Every so often, I am faced with a Swiss document though and Bhoy it's different. I'm quite sure that there is some sort of system to it and would really appreciate a walk through some key concepts and terms, a highlight of fundamental differences.

  16. Set a course on webinars for novices

Novices, like myself are unable to get the best from webinars (since participants have their habits and new comers are somehow excluded). A course with some tips on how to "get in" will be great.

  19. Devise some internal search engine for the available courses

A similar engine to the one used for searching for specific words in forum messages should make it possible to search course descriptions, e.g. all courses on Trados, all courses presented by Jim Smith, all courses in Spanish, or combinations of major features.
There are too many courses already, and the topic groups are quite large.

  20. I'd like to know where I can take courses to become a terminologist. Thanks.

I have taken a few courses here and there, but does anybody know of an institute or university that offers specific training in terminology? Thank you.
